I earn income when an individual chooses to have me complete their enrollment application for a Medicare plan.

I am an independent agent, which means I am not employed by an insurance company. I work independently. I am not captive to a specific insurance carrier.

As an independent agent, I become appointed by insurance companies to “sell” Medicare plans that they offer.

As of this date, the insurance companies to which I am appointed are Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, Devoted, Humana, United Healthcare, and Wellcare)

Medicare health plans are the only insurance to which I do business.

What is your experience in helping individuals with Medicare

I have been assisting and advising individuals with Medicare since 2010.

For five years, I was a volunteer counselor with the Seniors Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP), which is a federal and state funded program in North Carolina overseen by the North Carolina Department of Insurance (NCDOI).

Following my volunteer experience, I worked for approximately one year as an Independent Medicare Consultant, in which I charged an hourly fee.

In 2016, I changed my approach so that I could advise individuals without charging an hourly rate. I did this by becoming a licensed insurance agent in North Carolina; establishing contracts with a variey of insurance carriers who sell Medicare plans. I chose to work independently so that I could offer an array of Medicare plans.

Every year I complete a number of certification and licensure requirements that are mandated by the North Carolina Department of Insurance, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and each insurance carrier that I represent.

In addition to the above requirements, I remain actively involved throughout the year to remain current on changes that occur with the Medicare Program.

Do you work for Medicare?

No. I do not work for Medicare.

I have completed the licensure requirements mandated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the state of North Carolina & South Carolina to sell Medicare products.

Why should I get assistance from you?

  • I am a profession with integrity and concern for the clients I serve.
  • I specialize solely on the Medicare Program and the program’s plans.
  • I have many years of experience in this field of insurance.

  • I provide continued support throughout the year, which is a valuable asset to my clients long after the enrollment process is complete.
  • I am located in the state of North Carolina.
